Volkswagen.com Redesign

It was 2007 and Volkswagen.com was in need of a complete overhaul. Because the site is so massive it was a phased approach. We started with the model landing pages for each car and then moved onto all the content pages.


The Challenge

Volkswagen needed a compelling site that would bring their fun brand personality to life and get people excited to own a Volkswagen. It needed to be simple, intuitive and easy to use.


Get Visual

Most sites at the time were using a grid system. We used full bleed photography and overlaid other page elements to make the cars look more compelling.

 

 


Personality

Fun, quirky headlines highlighted the personality of each car along with beautiful photography.

 

 

 


Stay Organized

The amount of information we had to show on each page could have easily gotten overwhelming without well thought out navigation. Each car's sub nav was designed to expand and contract to simplify things.


Mobile 1.0

Mobile web was just starting and we where pioneers. This is the first site ever designed for vw.com. We've come a long way on mobile since then.
